Prerequisite - Initial Consultation and Testing
Prior to enrolling in our MBTI™ programme, please ensure you have completed our Tinnitus Assessment with our Consultant Audiologist for a full initial consultation and clinical audiological evaluation to assess your eligibility for the programme. This assessment includes: initial interview and case history, review of questionnaires and a full audiological and tinnitus evaluation comprising Pure Tone Audiogram, Acoustic Immittance, Speech Audiometry and Special Psychoacoustics Tests.
Module 1 - The Journey
No matter how great a burden your hearing condition might appear to be, your difficulties can be worked with. Begin your eight-week course by embedding a 45min mindfulness practice known as the Body Scan into your daily routine and familiarise yourself with some of our recommended tinnitus management ideas.
Module 2 - Resilience
Class Two highlights perception and response. How you 'view' things largely determines how you respond to them. It also explains why and how we can contemplate rolling out the red carpet for our tinnitus and/or hyperacusis with the cushion of a consistent mindfulness practice and way of life.
At the halfway point you will have another audiological consultation and retake part of your initial audiological evaluation. These results - and the final round of testing at the end - will be used to chart your progress through the programme and fine tune your audiological prescription.
Module 3 - Integration
Integrate mindful practice more fully and personally into your daily life by choosing and defining your own formal practices and unique routines. Participants are asked to personally reflect on lifestyle choices that are adaptive and self-nourishing as well as those that are not. In your last class we look at how to keep up the momentum and discipline developed over the previous four weeks.
Then final battery of audiological testing.
Discuss your progress, analyse your metrics from your three examinations, compile results from the questionnaires and outline treatment options for the future and the new self-made resources available to you.
